PHIL CASTILLO

PHIL CASTILLO is a multimedia production specialist located in San Antonio, Texas. He has written music for film, television, theatre, and concert projects appearing all around the world, including Germany, Russia, and around the US. He has also had experience directing the creation of print, web, and video publicity materials for various non-profit organizations.

Along with his work in multimedia, teaching is a huge passion of Castillo's. He taught music theory and technology at
Texas Tech University and was also a guest speaker at Film Expo Texas. There he provided independent film directors tips and techniques on how to find the right composer and music for their project. While at Texas Tech University, Castillo created the first ever Film Music Symposium where young composers from around the Southwest had the chance to share their film music and speak with guest film composer Graeme Revell (The Crow, Daredevil, CSI:Miami).

Castillo has worked as a professional audio consultant at
Sweetwater Sound where he designed recording studios for some of the biggest names in Hollywood film music and the recording industry. Castillo is a big advocate for the advancement of multimedia technology in the arts and he consults, tests, and helps develop the latest software and training literature.

Castillo is a member of the
American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), the Texas Music Educators Association, and the American Federation of Teachers.
